Description:
Errata is composed of Pages, the second version of Catalogues,
File Cards, Sheets and Graphics.
Errata is a system that incites formal and conceptual inquiry
regarding the impact that the market produces on our perception
and image of art. But it also examines whether this status
can arrive at a representational language as "exciting"
as the price of an artwork.
These pieces both replicate and also expand the devices of
representation from Sotheby's and Christie's galleries. They
propose – using a procedure inspired by their own market
indicators- a list of errata in the source information (the
catalogues and websites of these two galleries).
By means a system of calculations and correspondences between
dollars and centimeters, Errata proposes to visualize the
price of sale on the pictures of artwork sold. The project
creates a second version of the Catalogue, Pages and new Graphics.
The selling price of each artwork produces the visual event
on the image of the piece sold.
